Association of Project Safety launches autumn series of CPD events

The Association of Project Safety (APS) has announced an autumn series of CPD events, which cover two topics over a single day. Notably Working at Height and Temporary Works.

You can book one or both events, with 6 points being awarded for half a day and 12 points for a full day to APS members. The CPD events will be available from September through November.

The Working at Height session will cover:
  • the Work at Height Regulations
  • a review of the Work at Height hierarchy
  • BS 8560, the Code of Practice for the design of Buildings incorporating safe work at height
  • a range of construction access methods: new build construction and refurbishment
  • practical workshops in groups
  • group feedback and discussions

The Temporary Works session will cover:
  • the definition of temporary works (what’s included)
  • the background to BS 5975 (and some subsequent guidance)
  • the consequences and causes of temporary works failure (what can go wrong)
  • the procedural control of temporary works
  • the roles of the Temporary Works Co-ordinator and Supervisor
  • where to get further help
