Highways England is switching to colour-coded hard hats in 2017

Are you used to seeing all the workers on our roadways wearing the same colour hard hat? Well, in 2017 that all changes.

Highways England has decided to switch to colour-coded hard hats, with four different colours available based on your role on the site.

Here's the options:

• Black - Site Supervisors
• Orange - Slinger or Signaller
• Blue - Inexperienced Person or Visitor
• White - General Use (when colour coding isn't practical), Manager, Client, Competent Operative

It sounds like a great time to be in the business of selling hard hats!
