Competency - a word that is often used but not fully defined

Many people in the demolition industry talk about needing "competent people" but how is that competency judged? When we at C&D judge demolition submissions we always look at CDM2007 Appendix 4 and BS6187:2011 Appendix A as they set out the requirements.

To ensure that you, as an individual, and your company can fully demonstrate competency we recommend that you become members of the IDE and progress through to a full member with full CPD and then you can apply for the PQP card which is a demonstration of that competency.
