Demolition Plant Simulator training begins May 6th
The NDTG has just announced the starting date for the Demolition Plant Simulator Foundation Training Course, and there isn't long to wait. The training is set to begin on May 6th.
If you're one of the first 30 eligible candidates for the course, you may qualify for match funding, meaning it will only cost £112.50 for the two days.
More information can be found in the training brochure, but here's what the training entails:
"Delivered by experienced demolition plant trainers, with a full day theory training session at the start of the programme, candidates are sure to gain valuable knowledge, understanding and skills before they undertake any form of training on-site. The 2 day course will offer employers the confidence in the operators capabilities and will further assist in the development of on-site training programmes required by the individual. This is done through a feedback learner management system which will record operators performance on certain tasks and will enable employers to establish additional training needs.
The theory aspect of the course focuses on demolition plant safety ensuring that the operator has a full understanding of all health, safety and environment aspects when operating a demolition plant adapted 360 excavator.
It even has a High Reach Structural Awareness Taster Session for those ambitious operators looking to develop their career in the operation of demolition plant later on down the line."
The training will take place at Northern Safety in Middlesborough, with up to 8 individuals per track. That way everyone gets access to the actual simulator during their time there.
