3 Asbestos Roadshows announced for later this year

BOHS and HSE have jointly announced 3 Asbestos Roadshows happening later this year focused on asbestos. The roadshows are taking place on the following dates and locations:

• Thursday, 20th November in Glasgow
• Tuesday, 25th November in London
• Thursday, 4th December in Manchester

Each roadshow event will cover the following topics:

• Ventilation of asbestos removal enclosures
• The practicalities of achieving the desired airflow for removal enclosures
• The Analysts Guide in relation to Asbestos in Soils
• Asbestos in soils – the need for qualifications and proposed qualifications
• Identification of contaminated land
• Dealing with contaminated land
• UKAS accreditation for soils and analysis

BOHS / HSE Asbestos Roadshows - have you booked your place?

BOHS in conjunction with HSE are holding a series of roadshow events in June. These events will cover recent changes in the control of exposure to asbestos and in the forthcoming changes to HSE guidance. If you work with asbestos it's to your benefit to attend.

The roadshows will be held on the following dates at the given locations:

• Tuesday 4 June in Glasgow
• Wednesday 5 June in Manchester
• Thursday 6 June in Birmingham
• Tuesday 11 June in London
• Wednesday 12 June in Cardiff

In June there are set to be five Asbestos Roadshow events to reflect a number of changes and developments in the industry.

The series of roadshow events are key for anyone who wants to find out about the latest developments in the control of exposure to asbestos and in the forthcoming changes to HSE guidance. These events will benefit those companies who work with asbestos as well as those who advise on control. The roadshows will also bring Analysts up-to-date with planned changes to the Analyst Guide.

BOHS in conjunction with HSE are holding the roadshow events, with the provisional programme for the day being as follows:

11:00 – Asbestos in retail and new initiatives

11:45 – Training / competency developments

13:45 – Asbestos removal from ceiling voids
14:15 – Plenum ceiling voids and asbestos
14:45 – TBC
15:15 – Final remarks and close
