CDM2015 Are you up to speed?

The new CDM Regulations are now in place so all projects must be managed in accordance with those regulations, but how sure are you of the respective roles and duties?

Even members of APS at the recent Edinburgh 25 Years Conference could not agree on a definition for the role of Principal Designer as can be seen from the following article from SHP online:

CDM Regulations 2015 Awareness Course

This 1-day course is exactly what it says - an awareness course. These courses give an overview of the requirements for Clients, Principal Designers, Principal Contractors, Contractors, Designers and Workers, and how the regulations apply to construction projects.

An individual who successfully completes a one day awareness course may claim points as allocated in the Qualifications and Experience table towards membership of APS.

The content of the course is set out below and duration is normally 9am to 5pm.

- History of CDM and Summary of changes
- Application of CDM2015
- Notification
- Duty holder’s roles
- CDM2015 Documentation
- Transitional Arrangements
- Guidance materials
- Association for Project Safety Membership
- Further Study / Advice

Venues around the country include:

- 7th July – Cardiff
- 21st July – London
- 28th July – Birmingham
- 29th July – Nottingham
- 4th August – Liverpool
- 5th August – Manchester
