The National Specialist Contractors Council (NSCC) and the UK Contractors Group (UKCG) trade bodies have announced that they are merging to form a single body. From June, current chief executive of the NSCC, Suzannah Nichol, will lead the new union.
Both groups believe that by working together and "sitting around the same table" they can better achieve project delivery, have more honest discussions, and an easier time fixing major industry issues. They can also show governments a united front. Of course, that can only happen if a clear plan of action on how to merge and how the new body works going forward is in place. Both the NSCC and UKCG state that work is happening behind the scenes.
