Jacqui Miller awarded an MBE in the 2013 New Year's Honours List

Jacqui Miller, sales and marketing director of Miller International Quickhitch couplers has been awarded an MBE in the 2013 New Year's Honours List.

Quickhitches have progressed rapidly over the last 5 years, but they have been around in construction since the Mid - 1980's when Jacqui was instrumental in introducing them to the UK market.

I personally remember Jacqui giving an excellent presentation to an IDE Seminar a few years ago, when it was clearly evident that she had a passion for the industry, wanted to save lives, and understood that innovation and development was important.

The well deserved MBE comes from Jacqui's efforts to establish quickhitch use in India and China, her keen contribution to prosperity in the North East and the UK in general, and her membership of Genesis Initiative, a forum established to advise the Government on current topics and challenges facing SME businesses.

If you have Miller, or any other quickhitch devices on your machines, remember that over the last few months the HSE have visited a number of demolition sites to inspect the use of quickhitch attachments following a number of high profile incidents in the last few years. HSE inspectors will want to see that your operators and supervisors have received training in the operation and use of those devices.

If your team have not received quickhitch training then why not email jill@demolishdismantle.co.uk or john.woodward@demolishdismantle.co.uk to book a training course.
