York Carriageways worker's later years ruined by blue asbestos

An inquest has taken place following the death of Peter Abbott in April aged 73. While that's a relatively long life to lead, his later years were filled with suffering because of asbestos.

Peter worked for York Carriageways from 1965 to 1988, and regularly had to cut through carriages lagged with blue asbestos. In fact, the site was heavily polluted with asbestos and remained so until it closed. Peter started suffering with pulmonary fibrosis in 2003, and it progressively got worse for the next decade leading up to his death.

Here at C&D, we see this as yet another life taken too early by the hidden killer asbestos.

Pure and simple: Asbestos Awareness training can save your life. Take a few hours to do a training course and learn what asbestos will do to your lungs and how to prevent the damage. Get in touch with margaret@demolishdismantle.co.uk if you'd like to discuss the options further.
