There is a plethora of regulations that relate to the safety of electrical appliances in all situations. The major ones are listed below:
- The Health & Safety at Work Act 1974
- The Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999
- The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989
- The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998
The responsibility for getting these items tested and therefore helping to ensure the safety of their employees, lies with the employer. Whilst there is no stipulations as to how often they need to be tested, there are guidelines which set out recommended time scales for different types of equipment, in different situations.
C&D are now in a position to offer Portable Appliance Testing to the industry at both your offices and out on site using one of our own qualified and CSCS accredited tester.
