FREE Construction Work at Height event

We have been sent word of a free Construction Work at Height event being held on the 27th March in Pontefract. The details of which you can find below:

This is one of a series of free partnership events run by the industry for the industry, as part of the UK-wide Working Well Together (WWT) campaign.

The aim is not only to raise awareness of key health and safety issues facing the construction industry specific to your trade, but also to give practical advice on how to avoid risks on construction sites.

If you have a small building, construction or contracting company, or if you are self-employed and would like up to date advice to help you get to grips with health and safety, this free half-day event is a must. Every year there are several fatal accidents & severe injuries involving fragile roof surfaces so the N&W Yorkshire WWT Group & HSE think it is vital that this topic is included in this event.

The event programme is as follows:

08.00 - 08.30 Registration/bacon sandwich/refreshments/1st look at exhibitor stands
08.30 - 08.40 Intro from WWT Chair (Paula Fletcher – Interserve)/domestics
08.40 - 11.45 Demonstrations/presentations
11.45 - 12.15 Last chance to look at exhibitor stands and then event close.

Demonstrators will be:

Filon Products – fragile roof light replacement demonstration/guidance re fragile roof work
AFI Uplifts – scissor lift demonstration & tower scaffolds demonstration
Easi-dec – modular telescopic scaffold system (for roofline work)

Exhibitors – will be one of the scenarios so a chance to see what construction products/ services are available for you to buy/hire

Paul Blanchard – Paul will be doing his powerful & thought provoking presentation at the end of the event (11.00-11.45)

Delegates will be split into 4 x groups and there will be a rolling programme of demonstrations/presentations (30 minutes each)

There is no charge for the event, with free food, refreshments and car parking, so please register early. There's no dress code. Site clothes are acceptable but no muddy boots inside please!

The racecourse is off Junction 32 of the M62 (follow Pontefract signs). It’s situated 1 mile North of the town on the A639 Castleford road.
