A couple of weeks ago we posted some very positive training figures for the 6 months prior to February. Some further analysis of the spreadsheets, coupled with a very busy couple of weeks since then, means we are able to announce some more accurate and up to date results. These are based on the 15-week period since the start of November last year.
Since then we have issued a total of 1,016 certificates to workers from a total of 34 different companies, spread right across the country.
The number of courses in this period amounts to 97, with by far the most popular being the Demolition Safety Awareness and the Asbestos Safety Awareness courses. On average we have had 10.5 participants on each course.
Whilst these figures make for very good reading from our point of view, especially taking into account the Christmas shutdown during this period, we also need to stress our commitment to quality as a benchmark, not just figures. We are constantly reassessing our training methods to provide courses that are as interactive as they are educational. The modern day outcomes based approach to assessing performance, teaches us that it is how different a participant is at the end of a course that is the real test. Also that for practical hands on work like ours, then hands on practical training is the best way to go.
We will continue to improve our courses in this manner and hope to ensure that the number of workers and companies that will benefit, will continue to grow.

Quality Training to Suit the Client
At a recent performance review meeting an analysis of the training course records for courses over the last six months proved interesting reading.
Since the start of August last year we have provided 72 training courses with the total number of participants being 727, or an average of just over 10 per course.
Geographically speaking we have worked with companies based from Kent in the South East to Manchester in the North West and most places in between. The main concentration of the centres of operation seem to be the North West, the Midlands, London and the South East. It goes without saying that as we prefer to train “to suit the client, not the trainer “this meant a lot of miles for our trainers to cover.
The most popular courses remain the Demolition Safety Awareness and Asbestos Safety Awareness courses as in previous years. However there is steady increase in other courses being requested and provided. These include Category B Non-notifiable Asbestos Removal Techniques, Abrasive Wheels, Manual Handling, Fire Marshall and Vehicle Marshalling amongst many others.
C&D Training will continue to provide a programme of respected and endorsed specialist training for the industry, full details of all the courses we run can be found at:

But don’t just take our word for how good we are, here’s a recent quote from within the industry.
"We have decided to award the training contract to C&D again this year as we are happy with the course delivery and the fact that the training is done at a place, date, and time to suit ProDEM rather than to suit the training provider"
