Have you been burning scrap and demolishing buildings using Oxy-propane techniques for a while now? Do you think it is time to refresh your skills and confirm your competence?

Why not book a C&D Consultancy Hot Works course and cover the following:-
  1. Correct PPE including flameproof overalls, correct goggles, correct boots, ear defenders etc.
  2. Fire precautions and a fire plan. (Many fires on demolition sites come from incorrectly controlled hot works)
  3. Demolition cuts, what they look like and what they do.
  4. Testing the equipment including the all important leak tests.

Worker's death costs firm £230,000

On every C&D Hot Works/Oxy-propane course we discuss the implications of structural stability when burning on steel structures and the need to "chock" and support tanks and vessels when burning them on the ground. That's because our experience over the years has shown those areas to be of high risk.

The need to consider structural support for tanks has been brought home to us by this recent article in SHP where a burner was unfortunately killed during the demolition of a barge on dry land. We are sure that you would not want this awful tragedy repeated on one of your contracts, so why not book a hot works course now and get clear instruction on what to consider when carrying out demolition burning.
